About Us
Aisling had moved to the UK in September 2014 to begin her MSc degree programme in Equine Science at Hartpury University. Similarly, Rob had started his BSc in Sports Coaching at Hartpury University around the same time. On a typical student night out, the two met while queuing for drinks in Butlers. Aisling remarked on how tall Rob was and in true Irish fashion, proceeded to mock the hideous red checked shirt Rob was wearing that night (affectionately nicknamed the shit shirt). They parted ways shortly after, following their friend groups to other highbrow establishments in the Gloucester student nightclub area but as luck would have it they bumped into each other again….in another queue for the nightclub liquid. They continued their intellectual conversations over numerous shots and some dodgy dance moves, and finished the night by exchanging numbers. Aisling, worried Rob wouldn’t remember her complex Irish name put herself into Robs phone as – Aisling C (Irish).
And so the big burly rugby player fell in love with the slightly mad Irish equine girl….and if you know anything about the student culture of Hartpury University, that is the biggest cliché!
Having spent almost 8 years together, surviving moving in with each other and buying their first home. Rob popped the question on the most beautiful beach in Devon, during their short summer staycation in August 2022. Aisling, completely oblivious to what was happening, had moments before scoffed down a sausage roll from the picnic Rob had prepared and had absolutely no clue what was coming (as she had a few months prior shot down the idea of a beach proposal). Never the less, Aisling said yes with a slight moment of hesitation as she thought Rob was joking.
Which brings us to the exciting times we have ahead and the event of the season, our wedding! We can’t wait to celebrate with you all in August and like all Irish parties, it will be one you will likely not be able to remember.
