Updated information and places we're staying, stuff we're seeing. A few notes for everyone: We already booked our stuff through airbnb, expedia, kayak, and bandbireland.com. If you want to cruise along with our trip, you're VERY welcome to do so, but you'll have to do the footwork of finding your places and booking your tours. If you have any questions, email me at islandcommuter@gmail.com and I'll see what I can do. :)
Anna and I will be traveling to Ireland on the 9th of November and arriving on the 10th. Here's our general itinerary:
10th & 11th: We are going to be making sure all the details are done.
We'll be staying at an Airbnb called Ballincard House Fivealley in Birr.
I suggest traveling south and east/west to check out the Ring of Kerry, Cork, Blarney, Killarney, and Waterford.
12th: We will be staying at Kinnitty Castle this night. We'll probably check out local pubs and look for music and dancing.
13th: Wedding day! We'll be staying at Kinnitty Castle this night. Party all day and night!
14th: We're heading for Adare Manor to take some pictures in the morning and then over to the Cliffs of Moher in the afternoon. The sunset could possibly be fantastic since the cliffs fast west. Fingers crossed.
We'll be staying at the Corofin Country House in Corofin. It's about 10 minutes from The Burren.
15th: We're heading to The Burren as long as the weather is decent. Moderate to light hiking and maybe a picnic. If the weather is not cooperative, we'll go to Kylemore Abbey and then wander north.
We're staying at Slieve League House B&B this night.
16th: We're going to check out the northwest this day - Boat tour at Slieve League(sliabhleagueboattrips.com), Glenveagh Castle, and local pubs and music at night.
We're staying at an Airbnb in Bushmills (9 priestland road) right next to the Giant's Causeway this night.
17th: We'll head to the Giant's Causeway, lots of walking around and pictures, and then we'll drive south to Dublin for the night.
We're staying at the Croke Park Hotel for the 17th and 18th. Queen size beds, breakfast, and free parking.
18th: Newgrange neolithic tomb (you have to book a tour from their visitor center or through a private tour, we used newgrangetours.com) and then probably back to Dublin to wander the city. Book of Kells and Trinity College maybe, old city wall, etc.
19th: Back home to work and normal life!
